矾红彩瓷器又称“铁红釉”，其特点是分相多层次，即在第一次分相后形成的新相中，由于成分的不均匀分布，或某一成分过饱和，可能再次发生分相或析晶，这就使得铁红釉具有特殊的花釉艺术效果。

铁红釉的呈色是液相分离着色。在茶褐色或海参棕色上分布的大红花，肉眼可从其断面看出，表面有一层极薄的红色层，下层则呈黑色或黑带有褐色，然后是无色底釉层，这就是通常的所谓铁红釉分层说法。

然而，若用超薄光薄片，并且利用光学显微镜的最高分辨率，则在黑色层中可以发现铁红釉的稳定液相分离现象。

此件瓷器是一件十分难得的收藏佳品，有非常高的收藏价值和经济价值。
